There was bright sunlight today … almost as bright as what you would see down south…almost.

Lorie spent most of the day getting ready for a dinner with friends. The theme was Russian cuisine. It took a little bit of research on the internet; Eastern Canadians are not known for their expertise in Russian cuisine, after all!

After the dinner, we went another friend’s house. It was the Chinese New Year, and she was having a party to celebrate. We were greeted at the door with the traditional Chinese New Year gifts of oranges and money in red envelopes. There was a wide variety of Chinese food and drink, and lot of Chinese culture, followed by fireworks. Setting off the fireworks almost froze me to death – after all, it was 42 below zero!
