We woke up late today, real late! The combination of being up late last night and the very late darkness (there’s nothing to really cue the body to want to get up) conspired to make us sleep in. In truth we had nothing special to get up for anyway. Nevertheless I was horrified to have slept in so late.

Much of the day was consumed by a long walk in the woods. We walked for, perhaps, seven or eight kilometres in an effort to tire out the dog. It seems to have worked since he has been cat napping ever since we got home (hmmm…do dogs really cat nap?). Other than the walk, we watched some DVD’s on the laptop, read a little and cooked supper. We are going to try to get to bed early so that we can get up early tomorrow. Even though work is still more than a week away, I need to begin getting back into a schedule.

All in all it was a pretty quiet day with very little happening. The jeep has been parked in the driveway for two or three days now with very few kilometres having been put on it since we got here. That’s good because we are already way over on the kilometres for this year. I imagine, with the limited driving that is done up here, we’ll catch up before long, and be well into the black by the end of the lease. I wish the same was true of our financial situation!
