Date: November 22, 2005 - Kilometers Traveled: 0 Weather: Hot and Sunny

It was 20 freakin’ degrees in Calgary today…and sunny. I actually got a little bit of a sunburn!! I can’t believe how hot is was…a summers day. People were wearing summer shorts, and riding bicycles and motorcycles. Amazing! Even Lorie thought it was a little warm for her today!

We did the tourist things today. The Calgary Tower, the Saddledome, the Calgary Stampede. Fabulous stuff!! Here are some pictures of the things we saw today.

So picture this…we are up in the Calgary Tower. It’s early in the morning, so there are only four people up there. Two of them are Lorie and I, another is a staff member…the fourth…you guessed it – A Newfoundlander, from Paradise actually! He was visiting his brother who works here!

It’s 7:00PM now…we just got back from the steakhouse. Yours truly ate…yes fully consumed…a 34 oz steak (that’s a one kilo steak for those of us who like the metric system). I have to say, it was good. I am in less pain than the night I ate the shrimp…funny thing – that! The steak, and the vegetables, and the fries, and the garlic bread, and a litre of wine plus Lorie’s meal (whatever that was) cost less than $75. A great deal!! I feel good right now…a bottle of whiskey and I should feel great!!

Okay…for those of you who are “demanding” these updates (not naming any names…Vivian!!!), you have to give me some time here… bear in mind the 3.5hour…soon to be 4.5 hour…time difference)!! Jeeze….

That’s it for now…It’s off to the Rockies tomorrow…one can only imagine what adventures await…

Cheers for now!

Hello

I am sitting in my apartment in Inuvik and I just found your blog.

It is presently snowing and -19 degrees C here (this is up from
-37 with a windchill of -43 this past weekend).

Have a safe and enjoyable drive up (I hope the road is open by the time you get up here!)

Nice work on the steak bud. Stock up on Alpine before you leave Calgary.

Randy

BTW, when did you get a Jeep?
