Well this is our day off. It's back on the road tomorrow, so we will make the most of the day. We have some chores to take care of, like some banking and an oil change for the jeep. Lorie has to pick up a new winter jacket too...can't have my girl getting cold, now can I?

Last night we went a "Red Lobster" for dinner. They, foolishly, had a special on...all you can eat shrimp for $17.99. Now, I'm not normally a glutton, but when I see stupidity of that magnitute...well...let's just say that I took the opportunity to show them the errors of their ways! Between us, we ate ten plates of shrimp (Lorie only ate three!). Shortly after, I was in pain - a lot of pain! It was so bad that I was only able to get down one beer after we got back to the hotel room! I know, I know, where were my priorities? Well, this morning, my jeans don't fit so well. Hopefully the folks at Red Lobster learned their lesson. I like to help people...It's just the type of guy I am!!

Today we did a little touring around Winnipeg, visted the French Quarter and the downtown areas. Everywhere I go I keep running into Newfoundlanders!

Winnipeg seems to be good at one thing at least...consumerism! It is not difficult to buy something in this city. It is home to, what has to be, the largest Canadian Tire in the country! I was impressed by that...until I went into the SIR store. It has to be the largest outdoors store in the world. They have everything you would ever need - to be outdoors. The binoculars department (yes a whole department for binoculars!!) impressed me. The clothing section impressed me, the boot section impressed me....then I found the gun section! Now, I'm not an emotional person...but a 300 metre long wall lined with hunting rifles and shotguns will bring a tear to any "real" man's eyes! When I saw this I took a "me" minute. The emotion faded quickly, and turned to drool. Ummmm...I can almost smell the Muskox and Caribou cooking now!

Well boys and girls…that’s it for Winnipeg…tomorrow we head west for Saskatchewan.
