Tonight was "Scotch Night" at the Finto. The Finto is a decent restaurant/hotel/pub here in town. It reminds me of a place that was state of the art in it's time but has been let decline over the years, but then spruced up recently. The food there is pretty good. The drinks are good also, but the conversation is excellent.

Tuesday nights are for Scotch at the Finto. Sure you can get beer and rum and all the rest, but it’s for Scotch. Any Scotch you like (and they have an excellent variety) for two dollars a drink. Cheap ones, expensive ones - it doesn't matter. And those that know me, know that I like Scotch - love it in fact. But I was a good boy tonight, after all I have to work tomorrow! I only had two doubles...okay maybe three. But where else can you get a double of Dalwhinnie-12 year for $4? You can’t even buy it at the liquor store for that.

It seems everyone at the Finto has a story. And they are usually willing to tell it to you quite freely. The adventures they have been on in the Arctic, the hopes and dreams they have, their desire to leave here, their desire to stay here, or whatever. In most cases they are only too eager to tell their story. It can make for some interesting listening – at least from the ones that aren’t too drunk!

Maybe I will go next Tuesday to listen to more stories, maybe tell a few of my own. Perhaps I’ll join one of the many conversations that are planning new adventures. Yeah, that’s the ticket!

More tomorrow…

Cheers!

How often does Finto receive his supplies? Maybe you can piggy back your scotch with his shipments. I know you prefer the better scotch.
Does he buy from the liquor store or are his shipments direct.

Appreciate the info keep it up.
