Another day with little happening. Although it was bright today there’s still no sun…at least not in my eyes.
Lorie and I took a drive out around town tonight. Although this is a small town, we keep finding things that we have not seen before. I suppose this is mainly due to the fact that it has dark pretty much since we got here. Once it gets light out I suppose we will have to take a good tour around town to see what’s what.
Tonight, while we were out and about, we were also sizing up some real estate. To buy a house roughly equivalent to the one we had in Newfoundland, we are looking at a purchase price of somewhere around $400,000, and that’s with no yard worth mentioning. I think the big difference is that there are no basements here, and to get the floor area you have to build with a big footprint, or else build up. Plus there are the extra costs of building on permafrost. We can’t really afford $400,000, so we will have to keep looking.
More and more people are visiting the Blog and it seems to picking up new countries every day. The only continent that I haven’t had a visit from (besides Antarctica) is Africa. It never ceases to amaze me. If you do a search in the BlogSpot dashboard for the word “Inuvik”, this Blog – TraveLog Inuvik is listed as a “Top Blog”! I’m sure I’ll be getting calls from the CBC and CNN on this any day now…Not!
That’s it for now.
Cheers!
