Today we took Ripley for a walk. We met up with friends on the walk and had a chat with them before heading back to the house. And we saw the sun again - it just barely topped the horizon and shone with bright reds and oranges, coloured light skirting through the clouds in spots. It wasn’t easy to get pictures of this, but here’s what I managed to catch in the viewfinder:

This is a picture of the trail we walked on today. It's a place called boot lake.

This is a picture of Lorie and Ripley with the friends we met up with on boot lake.

These are a couple of pictures of the sun rising. When the sun is sitting low on the horizon like this the colours can be spectacular.

This is an example of some of the colours that you can see when the sun is just below the horizon.

After we got back from the walk we had to return a few items that we had borrowed from a friend for use before our furniture arrived. We went for a little ride around town, and remembering that the ice road was open, I took us for a little spin on it. They plow that thing very wide. And it’s not as slippery ad you would expect, although still slippery compared to a regular road.

It’s back to work tomorrow, but I have a few social engagements that I am looking forward to this week and this weekend. Funny how you always live for the weekends, isn’t it?

Cheers!
