The waiting game continues.

We explored a little more around Whitehorse today. We visited the fish ladder. Since the Yukon was dammed off to make a reservoir to generate electrical power, the fish cannot migrate upstream like they naturally would. The solution was to build a “ladder” – a wooden structure with incremental steps. The fish jump from level to level to gain access to their spanning grounds. It must be a neat thing to see, but of course the migration is over for this year, and the waters have all frozen.

We also did a little off-roading in the jeep to try out its new tires and four wheel drive capability. It seemed to perform well. Most of all I have to get used to driving with all these capabilities. That could come in handy!
